Recommended VPN settings for smoother LIVE TV streaming using Surfshark, IPVanish, NordVPN, ExpressVPN, and CyberGhost on FireTV, GoogleTV, Android TV, ONN, Nvidia Shield, and more.

VPN results can vary by device, internet provider, location, and server traffic. There is no single perfect server. If one location buffers, switch servers or try a different protocol.

• Backup: OpenVPN UDP
• Last resort: OpenVPN TCP

Server Location

• Start with the closest major US city.
• Try Dallas, Chicago, New York, or Atlanta.
• Try Toronto if US servers act unstable.

Turn OFF

• MultiHop: OFF
• CleanWeb: OFF
• NoBorders: OFF unless needed.

WireGuard + closest US server + MultiHop OFF + CleanWeb OFF.

• Scramble: OFF unless ISP blocking is suspected.
