How to Set Parental Controls & Hide Groups in KWTV|Tivimate

Use this guide to lock adult or restricted groups with a PIN and hide unwanted categories from your KWTV|Tivimate guide.

Important: Hiding a group and locking a group are not the same thing. For the best protection, you should both hide the group and lock it with a PIN.

1. Turn On Parental Controls in KWTV|Tivimate

  1. Open KWTV|Tivimate.
  2. Go to Settings → Parental Controls
  3. Turn Parental Controls ON.
  4. Create a 4-digit PIN.
  5. Confirm the PIN.
You can also choose what requires the PIN, such as:
  • Group Options
  • Channel Options
  • Settings
  • Playlists

2. How to Lock a Group with a PIN

This is useful for locking adult, XXX, or any restricted channel category.

  1. Open the TV Guide or Groups List.
  2. Highlight the group you want to lock.
  3. Press and hold the OK / Select button on your remote.
  4. A side menu should appear.
  5. Select Block Group.
  6. Enter your PIN when prompted.
Once blocked, that group will require the PIN before it can be opened.

3. How to Hide a Group in KWTV|Tivimate

Hiding a group removes that category from your guide view.

Quick Hide Method

  1. Open your KWTV|Tivimate guide.
  2. Highlight the group/category you want to hide.
  3. Press and hold the OK / Select button.
  4. Select Hide Group.
  5. Confirm your choice.
The group should now disappear from your channel guide.

4. How to Hide Multiple Groups at Once

  1. Highlight any group in the guide.
  2. Press and hold the OK / Select button.
  3. Select Manage Groups.
  4. Select TV.
  5. Toggle OFF any groups you want hidden.
Tip: Visible groups are usually shown as enabled/on. Hidden groups will be toggled off.

5. Best Setup for Parental Protection

For the strongest setup, do all of the following:

  1. Turn on Parental Controls.
  2. Create a PIN.
  3. Lock the restricted group using Block Group.
  4. Hide the group from the guide.
  5. Protect Group Options and Channel Options with the PIN.
If you only hide a group, someone may still be able to re-enable it unless your group settings are protected by the PIN.

6. How to Show Hidden Groups Again

  1. Open KWTV|Tivimate.
  2. Highlight any visible group.
  3. Press and hold the OK / Select button.
  4. Select Manage Groups.
  5. Enter your PIN if prompted.
  6. Toggle the hidden group back ON.
The group should now appear again in your guide.
