KWTV / KWTV XC Not Opening or Showing a Blank Screen?
If KWTV or KWTV XC opens to a blank screen, gets stuck loading, or will not open correctly, follow these steps in order.
Before You Start
If the app is not opening, stuck on a blank screen, or taking longer than normal to load, the issue is usually caused by the app being stuck in the background, cache buildup, the VPN connection, or the device needing a restart.
Step 1: Force Stop the App
Start by fully closing the app that is not opening correctly. If you use both KWTV and KWTV XC, it is a good idea to force stop both before reopening either one.
Fire TV / Firestick
- Go to Settings
- Select Applications
- Select Manage Installed Applications
- Choose KWTV or KWTV XC
- Select Force Stop
- Repeat for the other app if needed
Google TV / Onn / Chromecast
- Go to Settings
- Select Apps
- Select See All Apps
- Choose KWTV or KWTV XC
- Select Force Stop
- Repeat for the other app if needed
Step 2: Clear Cache
After force stopping the app, clear the cache. This does not delete your login.
Fire TV / Firestick
- Go to Settings
- Select Applications
- Select Manage Installed Applications
- Choose KWTV or KWTV XC
- Select Clear Cache
- Repeat for the other app if needed
Google TV / Onn / Chromecast
- Go to Settings
- Select Apps
- Select See All Apps
- Choose KWTV or KWTV XC
- Select Clear Cache
- Repeat for the other app if needed
Step 3: Turn Your VPN Off, Then Back On
If you use a VPN, open your VPN app and disconnect it completely. Wait a few seconds, then reconnect. After reconnecting, give the VPN a moment to fully connect before opening KWTV or KWTV XC again.
Tip: If the app still opens to a blank screen, test once with the VPN turned off. If it works with the VPN off, the issue may be your VPN location, protocol, or connection.
Step 4: Restart the Device
Restarting the device clears anything that may be stuck in the background.
Fire TV / Firestick
- Go to Settings
- Select My Fire TV
- Select Restart
Google TV / Onn / Chromecast
- Go to Settings
- Select System
- Select Restart
You can also unplug the device from power for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
Step 5: Open the App and Give It a Few Minutes
After the device restarts, open KWTV or KWTV XC again. Give the app a few minutes to fully load. Sometimes the app may appear blank briefly before it reconnects and starts working again.
Step 6: Last Resort — Clear Data or Reinstall
If the app still will not open after the steps above, you may need to clear app data or uninstall and reinstall the app.
Important: Clearing data may remove your saved login information. Only do this if you know your login or are able to get help logging back in.
Fire TV / Firestick
- Go to Settings
- Select Applications
- Select Manage Installed Applications
- Choose KWTV or KWTV XC
- Select Clear Data or Uninstall
Google TV / Onn / Chromecast
- Go to Settings
- Select Apps
- Select See All Apps
- Choose KWTV or KWTV XC
